Travel Bahamas
With its more than 700 islands and 2,500 cays, the Bahamas offers an overwhelming number of exotic and exciting tourist spots waiting to be explored. Almost all of the Bahaman islands are low and flat; the highest point being the Mount Alvia, or the Como Hill, which has an altitude of 63 metres or 210 feet.
The country’s subtropical-tropical climate makes it an all-year round travel destination. However, visiting the country during the summer and autumn could be quite dangerous because hurricanes usually pass near or through islands during these seasons. Nonetheless, we hope this would not discourage you from including Bahamas in your itinerary for a Caribbean adventure.
Having a diverse cultural history, the Bahamas also has a diverse calendar of colourful festivals and heritage events. Tourists should not miss the Junkanoo Summer Festival held from June through August, the three-day Chickcharnie Festivals & North Andros Seafood Splash held every October, and the All Abaco Regatta held every August.
Going to the country from the U.S. and some other international locations is easy, and one can reach the country either by air or by sea. The country has approximately 57 airports, three of which are international airports. There are currently 24 airports and 29 marinas that were designated as official ports of entry to the Islands of the Bahamas.
The country is more than just a group of beautiful islands. Visit it to experience a different culture, blend with the locals, and taste exotic foods.
